Situation: Luso and its location, half-way up the slope of the Bussaco mountain, creates an ambience of tranquillity and relaxation that will free guests' mind of the pace and stress of modern life. The Bussaco National Forest is just 100 m from this charming hotel, and is a real paradise on earth, full of exotic trees brought from overseas by the Portuguese sailors, cold springs of crystalline water and dramatic view points over the sea. Inside, guests will find the last palace built by the Portuguese Monarchy - certainly a pearl of architecture and a delight for the eyes. Restaurants, bars and nightlife can be found 5 km away in Mealhada, while links to the public transport are just 300 m away. This family-friendly hotel is just 1 km from Luso train station, 20 km from Coimbra and its numerous shops, and approximately 80 km from the ski area of Serra de Estrela. The beach in Mira is around 30 km from the hotel and the airports of Francisco Sá Carneiro and Portela are 90 km and 200 km away, respectively.

Lodging: The guestrooms have all been designed and decorated with the comfort and convenience of the guest in mind. Each room is unique in their 19th-century decoration and location but the most common are rooms with a double bed or a double bed plus a single bed, to suit both twins or family triples. All rooms feature an en suite bathroom with shower, a direct dial telephone, TV, Internet access and individually regulated heating.

Services: Established in May 1931 and operating since 1939 in the ancient palace of the Count of Graciosa, this cosy boutique hotel offers unforgettable moments of comfort and refinement, thanks to the experience of three generations of hoteliers. The hotel combines its glorious past with modern comforts in its 18 rooms. The air-conditioned hotel also offers guests a lobby, hotel safe, cloakroom, TV lounge, bar and restaurant, WLAN Internet access, a car park and gardens offering a splendid view over the village of Luso. For an additional fee, guests may also make use of the room and laundry services.

Board: A continental buffet breakfast is served each morning and small snack are available from the pool bar.

Sports: The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with children's swimming pool and poolside snack bar, where guests can enjoy a drink while basking in the sunshine. For the more energetic guests there are a myriad of rambling trails to choose from, each with the spectacular scenery of the nearby Bussaco National Forest. Curia golf course is approximately 10 km from the hotel. Other sport and leisure activities available to guests for an additional fee include tennis, darts, basketball, handball, volleyball and biking. The nearby beach is sandy.

Comments: Check in from 12 noon until 8 pm. In case of late arrival, guests should contact the reception desk. The car park is closed from 8 pm until 7 am for security reasons.

How to arrive: By car: after leaving the airport, follow the blue signs for the A1 Porto. Enter the motorway and drive north for about 200 km. Leave the motorway in Luso. There are several roundabouts in the city. Go straight across until the 4th roundabout. Turn right here for Luso. The pink manor house dominating the view is the hotel.
